Former President Ronald Reagan renewed his acquaintance with country music legend Roy Acuff Friday night in Nashville, Tenn. Reagan was in Nashville to speak at a bottlers convention and Acuff stopped by his suite at the Opryland Hotel for about 15 minutes. A spokesman said Acuff "wanted to thank him for coming to Nashville for his 81st birthday celebration in 1984" and Reagan said, "Glad to do it. It's always a treat to see Roy Acuff." Reagan, who has known Acuff since the 1940s, also told Acuff that he's as busy as ever on the "mashed potato" circuit.
