Jacque Morgan, a former University of Utah student body president has been nominated by Gov. Norm Bangerter to serve as the student member of the state Board of Regents, his aide for education said Saturday.

The aide, Colleen Colton, said the governor has not yet chosen a replacement for former regent Dean Jeffs, a Provo lawyer who resigned earlier this year to become a mission president for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The nomination of Morgan, who served as U. student body president during the 1987-88 school year, must still be ratified by the Utah Senate. She would fill a vacancy left by George R. Marshall, whose term expired June 30.

Morgan was selected over two other former student body presidents
