Four Golden Eagle players have been re-assigned to Salt Lake from the parent Calgary Flames club.

Rich Chernomaz, Rick Lessard, Stu Grimson and Kevin Grant will start the season with the Golden Eagles.Chernomaz, one of the top forwards in the league, was the team's third leading scorer last year with 39 goals and 35 assists for 74 points.

Lessard was a first-team IHL defenseman two years ago, but was plagued with injuries last year. He scored 21 points in 169 minutes.

Grimson led the IHL in penalty minutes in 1988-89 and was second on the team last year with 319 penalty minutes.

Grant is recovering from broken cheekbone suffered during a preseason game. He scored seven goals and had 17 assists in 78 games last year.

Coach Bobby Francis expects to have final player assignments for his club by Monday. Six players who were with Salt Lake last year are still with Calgary and at least half of them should be back with the Eagles this season.

The Eagles open the regular season Oct. 5 at San Diego. Their first home game will be Oct. 10 also against San Diego.
