LDS Church President Ezra Taft Benson, recovering from a second brain surgery, may be released from the hospital next week, a church spokesman said Friday.

President Benson continued to be listed in fair condition at LDS Hospital and doctors were considering moving him from the intensive-care unit.Don LeFevre, spokesman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said if the 91-year-old president continues to improve, he could be released from the hospital next week.

A brain scan performed earlier this week showed no recurrence of the blood clots that hospitalized him Sept. 18.
