Lightning strikes sparked minor blazes Thursday night, causing slight damage to two homes just a few blocks from each other.

Approximately 11 firefighters were dispatched to the area, a county fire dispatcher said. The first home hit, at 11960 S. 2160 West, didn't suffer any serious damage. Lightning went through the other house at 11970 S. 2157 West, however, igniting a small fire in the front yard, the dispatcher said.
