For youngsters in grades 1-8 who want more drama in their lives, the University of Utah Division of Continuing Education is offering an after-school drama program beginning Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 4:15 p.m.
Directed by Xan S. Johnson and his theater department staff, the program offers instruction at four different developmental levels: Grades 1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8, with students given tasks and activities specific to the developmental needs of each age group. Younger children will focus on discovering their own personal resources while older ones will be encouraged to apply their own experience with group dynamics and interpersonal conflicts to live theater. All four groups will meet on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. in the West Institute Building, located at 300 South and University St. (across from Pioneer Memorial Theatre). Tuition is $55 per student.
