Crews are laying new sewer and water lines gradually closer to the first commercial development area near I-70 in northern Richfield.

A contract for the initial phase of construction to provide water and sewer services to eight parcels of private property was awarded to Larry Rose Construction Co. of Orderville, Kane County. It will cost $69,000, most of which will be paid by private property owners. A second phase will cost another $38,000, bringing sewer and water services to four more pieces of property.Sevier County and Richfield each own small parcels, costing the county $7,113 and the city $13,700.

Construction has begun on commercial facilities for a Flying J Enterprises truck stop south of I-70 and east of the north access road in Richfield.
