Salt Lake police are continuing to investigate two Tuesday morning rapes, including one that happened near a downtown office building.

A 23-year-old woman told officers she was waiting for a bus at 75 N. Main about 5:15 a.m. when a man wearing a Batman T-shirt came up behind her. The man reportedly put his hand over her mouth and forced her between the LDS Church Office Building and the Relief Society Building and then raped her.The second incident occurred about an hour later. An 18-year-old woman said she was walking along the railroad tracks near 1340 S. 700 West when a man approached her from behind and pulled her between two buildings. He apparently removed her sweater and tied it around her eyes, threatening to kill her if she screamed or resisted, police said.
