Herbert Nielson Hyde, the co-founder of one of Utah's most recognized seafood restaurants, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 1990. He was 93.

Hyde began a career in the seafood business in 1920, working for C.J. Bratten, later purchasing the wholesale distribution company. In 1952, he co-founded Bratten's Seafood Grotto Restaurant in Salt Lake City, followed by a second restaurant in Bountiful, which he operated with his wife, Ruby.Hyde was a World War I veteran.

Funeral services are scheduled Friday noon, Sept. 28, in Monument Park 2nd Ward, 1005 S. 2000 East. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 South, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., or Friday at the church one hour before the service. Entombment will be at the Larkin Sunset Lawn.
