A brain scan has shown no recurrence of the subdural hematomas that hospitalized President Ezra Taft Benson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints last week.
President Benson was listed in fair and stable condition Thursday in LDS Hospital.Church spokesman Don LeFevre said the 91-year-old church leader was sitting up and talking with visitors on Wednesday, something he hasn't done since last week.
President Benson was admitted to the hospital Sept. 18, complaining of headaches and difficulty swallowing. He underwent surgery the following day to remove clots from both sides of his head.
A second operation was performed Sunday to remove a reaccumulation of blood on the left side of his head.
