Charles Leroy Garner, 74, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, died September 25, 1990 in a Salt Lake Hospital.
Born August 25, 1916 in Rupert, Idaho to William Charles and Ethel Bowen Garner. Married Gladys Cora Campbell on December 21, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He served two LDS missions with his wife to Mexico and Guatemala. He was director of the Provo Temple baptistry for over six years. Graduated from BYU in Genealogical Technology and did extensive geneology work. Branch President at the MTC in Provo for three years.
Survived by wife of Salt Lake, children, Mrs. Gary (Carol) Griffeth of Rexburg, Idaho; Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Gerratt of Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Tyrell (Janice) Tanner of Reno, Nevada; Mrs. Larry (Louise) Ward, Murtaugh, Idaho; Mrs. Robert E. (Suzanne) Canaan, Provo, Utah; Don Leroy Garner, of Pleasant Grove; Paul Campbell Garner, Charles Lee Garner, both of Orem; 48 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Afton Baker, Delma Bean, both Burley; Dean Garner and Dale Garner, Selna Jensen, all Rupert; Leland Garner, Rexburg; and Lorainne Crandall of Provo.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 10 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, Idaho on Saturday with additional funeral services Saturday in Burley.
