Adeleria C. Gonzales went home to her Lord and Savior on September 25, 1990 after a long illness.

Born in Questa, New Mexico on January 22, 1918 to Jose Cardenas and Marina Garcia. She married Adolfo F. Gonzales in Costilla, New Mexico on June 9, 1936.Survived by husband, one son, Joseph Gonzales, daughters, Mrs. Robert Rolfe (Julia), Sandy; Mrs. Harry Thorpe (Emily), West Valley City; Elizabeth Juarez, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Doug Ellis (Carmen), Las Vegas, Nevada; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren on whom she doted, spoiled and loved. Also survived by two brothers, Frank Garcia, Taos, New Mexico; and Dell Ortiz, Questa, New Mexico; preceded in death by one brother, Gabriel Garcia.

Her life was God, family and friends. She imparted wisdom and comfort to all who crossed her path. She was a faithful church member and Sunday School teacher as well as a school teacher in earlier years. She loved sewing, music and gardening. Her devotion to family and friends was sincere and wholehearted. She has left a great void, but her memory will go on in our hearts.

Funeral and graveside services will be held at Mackay Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State St. on Saturday, 10 a.m., with a viewing on Friday, September 28, from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment; Mackay Lake Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the University of Utah Development Office, 304 Park Building, Salt Lake City, UT 84112.
