Tickets are on sale for the Utah Valley Choral Society's 1990-91 season, including four concerts and the eighth annual "Messiah" Sing-in, all in the Provo Tabernacle.
Under the direction of Lois J. Johnson, the choral group will open the season Wednesday, Oct. 24, with a program of works by John Rutter, including "Requiem" and "Gloria."The "Messiah" Sing-in will be Saturday, Dec. 8. A family concert called "Christmas Echoes" will be presented Dec. 12. The "New Names, New Faces" concert Feb. 27 will feature unpublished and previously unperformed works by local composers. The season ends May 1 with "A Broadway Spectacular."
"Music has an incredible power to touch our souls and change our lives," said Johnson, a soprano soloist with the Tabernacle Choir and choral instructor at American Fork High School. "As a choral society, we are dedicated to performances of the highest caliber."
Season tickets are $7 for an adult, $3.50 for students and senior citizens, and $25 for a family. Individual concerts cost $2 general admission and $1 for students and senior citizens.
