A Hill Air Force Base air cargo specialist has been booked into jail in connection with the Sunday stabbing death of an Ogden man in downtown Salt Lake City.

Lorenzo Thompson, 20, was fatally stabbed in the chest about 2:30 a.m. Sunday during a fight at 125 S. West Temple.Thompson apparently pulled his vehicle to the curb at that address and two of his friends exited the car and began walking down the street to meet with some other people. Thompson's vehicle then rolled backward and bumped into a car behind them, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Norm Thompson.

Although neither of the vehicles suffered any damage, the occupants of both vehicles began arguing and an altercation ensued. Six people were apparently involved in the fight. "It was like melee city," Lt. Thompson said.

The victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Keith Edwin Mincy, 19, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder in connection with Thompson's death.
