An assertiveness training course for adults, sponsored by Davis County Mental Health, will begin Oct. 3 in Layton. The eight-week course helps people acquire more self-respect and control over their lives without denying the rights and feelings of others.
The ability to express oneself and communicate in a more direct and open way will be facilitated through instruction and practice in such specific skills as coping with criticism, refusing requests, making requests, handling anger and anxiety, and giving and receiving compliments.The classes will be conducted on eight consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 6 to 8. All classes will be held at the Layton center, 2250 N. 1700 West. Registration is $32. Call 298-3446.
