Two men wanted for investigation of armed robbery were arrested Tuesday following a high-speed chase involving several police agencies.

Salt Lake detectives received information that two men believed to have robbed Wendy's restaurant, 562 E. 400 South, on Sept. 20, were in the Midvale area. About 2 p.m. Tuesday, the detectives spotted the men at a Midvale service station, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Norm Thompson. The men, who were driving a stolen vehicle from Las Vegas, fled when they saw the detectives. With the help of Midvale police, the officers began chasing the pair and followed them onto I-15, where the Utah Highway Patrol and other agencies became involved.

The two got off the freeway near 9000 South and ran into a field of 6-foot-high weeds and grass, Thompson said. The duo was eventually apprehended and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of armed robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle and failure to stop. Officers also recovered a handgun from the vehicle.
