Herbert Nielson Hyde, age 93, passed away on September 25, 1990 in Salt Lake City.

Born February 4, 1897 in Monticello, Utah to Francis Herbert and Lucinda Diantha Nielson Hyde. Married Ruby Goodson on June 25, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1920, he began his career in the seafood business working for C.J. Bratten and later purchasing Bratten's Seafood Market and wholesale distribution company. Beginning in 1952, he was co-founder of Bratten's Seafood Grotto Restaurants in Salt Lake City. In 1965, he and his wife Ruby, opened Bratten's Seafood Cove in Bountiful, Utah. His love of life was his work. Served in the First World War. High Priest in the Monument Park Second Ward.Survived by wife, Ruby; two sons and a daughter, H. Paul; Mrs. Bryce (Susan) Wade; and David G.; 18 grandchildren, all of Salt Lake; brother and sister, Hugh H. Hyde and Mrs. Edwin (Edith) Bronson, both of Salt Lake.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28th, 12 noon, at the Monument Park Second Ward, 1005 South 2000 East. Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Thursday evening 6-8 pm, and Friday at the Ward, one hour prior to services. Entombment at Larkin Sunset Lawn.
