Young men and women hoping to pursue a career in clowning will have the opportunity to make their dream come true when Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus holds auditions for its 1990 Clown College session on Friday, Sept. 28, at the ZCMI Center beginning at 1 p.m.

Prospective students will have the chance to demonstrate their skills in the age-old art of clowning as well as meet with mirthmakers from the Great Show on Earth's famous Clown Alley.While prior experience in clowning is not necessary for admission, those hoping to attend the world's only college of clowning are evaluated for evidence of serious motivation, desire to become a clown, quick physical reactions, sense of timing and improvisational ability.

All who apply will be considered for admission to the tuition-free institution, located in Florida, home of the circus' winter quarters.

Applicants must be 17 years of age or older.
