Juab County Sheriff Dave Carter is warning citizens in Juab County to be aware of a group of con artists who specialize in construction fraud.

Carter said the group is highly organized and has more than 300 adult members. He said smaller portions of the group travel throughout the United States. Victims, particularly the elderly, are contacted at their homes by a male member. The members appear to be father and son and are usually clean-cut in apperance and drive new trucks with matching shells and aluminum ladders.

Carter said they are polite and offer to do roof repairs, paving, painting, seal coating on roofs and improvements to exterior walls, foundations and driveways.

Most work is completed in less than two hours with victims charged from several hundred to several thousand dollars.
