April Wood of Farmington came closest on the tiebreaker - she picked Hawaii to beat Utah 21-14 - to win last week's Deseret News grid picks contest.

She and Dan Hexen of Orem got 11 of the 12 games correctly - they both missed on the Pittsburgh-Syracuse game which ended in a tie.Wood gets the $100 weekly prize but the opportunity to join weekly winners in trying to predict the halftime and final scores of the BYU-Utah game, with correct predictions earning $25,000.

Joining Hexen as runners-up who will receive Deseret News T-shirts are: Walt Root, Salt Lake City; Mary Smith, Sandy; Douglas Nicholes, American Fork; Derek Emery, Salt Lake City; Robert Young, Salt Lake City; Tim McGaffin, Orem; Danny Martin, Millville; Adrian Groos, Kaysville; Ann Budge, Bountiful; and Missy Smith, Sandy.

In the celebrity portion of the contest, the Deseret News duo of Lee Benson-Doug Robinson increased their lead over KSL's Chris Tunis-Jim Braden by correctly picking nine games to eight for the KSL duo. They have picked 30 of 48 successfully overall to 28 of 48 for Tunis-Braden.
