Communist guerrillas scorned President Corazon Aquino's declaration of a cease-fire in the capital and areas devastated by a recent earthquake by announcing the resumption of full hostilities Monday.

Romulo Kintanar, chief of the communist New Peoples Army, said in a statement to news agencies that Aquino's Sept. 12 announcement of a limited cessation of hostilities was "a mere scheme to divide the revolutionary forces."
