Eddie Isaac Isaacson, Salt Lake educator, 85, died September 21, 1990 at home of pulmonary fibrosis.

Born in Ephraim, Utah May 13, 1905, 7th of eight children of Martin and Mary J. Beal Isaacson. He married Ida A. Arnold December 23, 1927 in the Manti LDS Temple.He graduated from Sow College in 1925 and BYU with the class of 1927. He earned his Master's Degree from the University of Utah in 1943.

He was a successful athletic coach, teacher, and principal. He taught and coached at Moroni, Juab and South High schools and also served one year as a CC Camp Educational Director.

He served as principal of Longfellow, Hawthorne and Garfield elementary schools and Northwest and Bryant junior high schools.

As an avocation, he was a special representative of the Businessmen's Assurance Company for 40 years until he became a junior high school principal.

He enjoyed raising, training, riding and showing Tennessee Walking horses and won many ribbons and prizes with his horses.

He was an active member of the LDS Church all his life. He, with his wife, served as temple workers in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and served a temple mission in the Washington, DC LDS Temple.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Dr. E. Arnold Isaacson (wife Donna) of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren, Susan (Mrs. Jon S. Wayman), Dr. Bruce A. Isaacson (Nan), Nancy (Mrs. Douglas J. Hansen), all of Salt Lake City; Dr. Mark S. Isaacson (Julie), Aptos, California, John S. Isaacson (LaVon), Royal Oaks, Michigan; and Linda (Mrs. Chad Price), Idaho Falls, idaho. Also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah I. Denison, and a brother, LaVar S. Isaacson of Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, at 12 noon, in the Colonial Hills Ward, 1455 South 17th East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday evening, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral at the chapel. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
