Beatrice Thorpe Machin, 88, former Logan resident, died September 21, 1990 at the Holladay Care Center.

She was born January 12, 1902 at College Ward, Utah, the daughter of Hyrum and Sophia Theurer Thorpe. She married Percival W. Machin August 24, 1921 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died September 14, 1982. She received her education in Cache County schools. Active in civic affairs and in floral clubs. She was an active member LDS Church, taught in the Sunday School, was music chorister, and served in the Logan Stake YWMIA presidency. Member of the DUP.She is survived by two sons, Robert P. Machin, and Don P. Machin, both Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Symore Thorpe, Garland; and Dean Thorpe, Ely, Nev.; one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Eunice) Jones, Newton, Ut.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 24, 1990, at 2 p.m., in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 162 East 4th North, Logan, Utah, with Merlin Leonhardt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
