Robert Kelly Skanchy, 60, died September 21, 1990 at the Logan Regional Hospital.
Born October 5, 1929 in Logan, Utah a son of Carl Norman and Addie Tarbet Skanchy. Married Sarah Ann Mobley, March 11, 1968 in a Logan LDS Temple. He received his early education in Logan schools, graduated from Utah State University and received his law degree from the University of Louesville Kentucky. Member of Sigma Chi. He was a Major in the US Army, and had served in Korea and Vietnam. Member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He retired from the United States Army. He was an active member of the LDS Church, served a mission to Norway. A Sunday School teacher, Seventies Group Leader, and a counselor in the Bishopric.Survived by wife, Sarah Skanchy, Logan, Utah; one son, Don L. Skanchy, Marina, Calif.; one daughter, Nancy S. Bailey, Orem, Utah; seven grandchildren, two brothers, W. Dean Skanchy, Logan, Utah; Norman L. Skanchy, Ogden, Utah; four sisters, Norma Lechtenburg, Clearfield, Utah; Ollie Jean Cutler, Las Vegas, Nevada; Shirley Johnson, Winter Haven, Florida; Virginia Oshel, Clearfield, Utah.
Graveside services, Tuesday, 12 noon in the Logan City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home, Monday evening 6-8 p.m. Military rites under the direction of American Legion Post #7. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to the Sunshine Terrace Day Care Center, or to the Utah MS Society, Salt Lake City.
