Ricky Smallridge of Opelika, Ala., shot a second round 67 on Saturday to go along with an opening 64, good for a four-stroke lead in the $100,000 Ben Hogan Boise Open.
First year professional Eric Hogg, of Park City, Utah, is tied for second place with a second round 65, to go along with an opening 70. David Hobby of Pasadena, Calif., matched Hogg's effort and is tied with him at 135.Lee Chill, Jr. of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, also is tied for second place after rounds of 66-69.
Friday's co-leader Eric Booker of Naples, Fla., shot a 1-over 72 and is at 6-under along with Jeff Maggert of The Woodlands, Texas, and Gerry Norquist of Eugene, Ore.
Smallridge, who has never won on the Ben Hogan Tour, recorded five birdies on the day against one bogey.
Birdies on five out of the first 10 holes moved him to 12-under par before he failed to get out of a bunker on the par 3 13th to bogey the hole.
The four-shot second-round lead by Smallridge is the largest by a stroke on the Ben Hogan tour.
Fifty-six players made the cut at even par.
