Two sisters gave birth to boys 15 minutes apart in a race at a hospital in Lithia Springs, Ga.
With about 25 relatives cheering them on in the waiting room Thursday, Karen Addison was the winner over Carla Strickland.Addison, 23, gave birth to 7 pound, 8 ounce Jeffrey Scott Addison, at 12:41 p.m. Thursday.
At 12:56 p.m., Strickland, 32, gave birth to 7 pound, 11 ounce Travis Ryan Strickland.
The sisters, both of Douglasville, met by accident in the labor room.
"I saw her when she came in, and it seemed kind of strange, but I didn't really think much about it," said Addison. "Right then, I was hollering and griping."
The two were put in adjoining delivery rooms.
The progress of the race was reported by the two expectant fathers, Tony Addison and Don Strickland, who shuttled between the delivery rooms.
