LDS Church President Ezra Taft Benson remained in serious but stable condition Friday in LDS Hospital.

Tuesday, the 91-year-old leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints underwent surgery to remove blood clots on each side of his brain.A hospital spokesman said President Benson would remain in the hospital's intensive care unit for at least one more day. He probably will be hospitalized for another week before returning home to recuperate.
