Among a number of outstanding recordings of the K. 466 Piano Concerto, my own favorites include those of Serkin (CBS, with Szell), Perahia (CBS), Curzon (London), Haskil (Philips), Ashkenazy (London) and, on period instruments, Lubin (Arabesque) and Bilson (Archiv).

Fritz Reiner (RCA) still reigns supreme in the Concerto for Orchestra, followed by Solti (London, also with the Chicago Symphony), Boulez (CBS) and Dorati (Phiiips). But I wouldn't mind seeing Arpad Joo's, on Sefel, restored to circulation, perhaps the wildest and wooliest - and most Hungarian - performance of this 20th century masterwork I have ever encountered.
