Jordan scored 28 points and gained 300 yards offense in the first quarter alone, as the third-ranked Beetdiggers blasted Murray 34-7 in Region 6 action Friday afternoon.

Tom Payne scored on runs of 22 and 2 yards, Eric Hagen scored on runs of 4 and 18 yards, and the Tyler Garrison-Mitch Berg passing connection accounted for eight points as well.Hagen rushed only 11 times for 61 yards - his first sub-100-yard game of the season. His rushing total to date is 506 yards.

Meanwhile, Berg hauled in his sixth TD catch of the year - a 34-yarder from Garrison. The two also clicked on a two-point PAT pass. Berg is averaging 35 yards a catch.

Jordan, which entered the game tied for third with Dixie in the Deseret News 3A poll, remains undefeated - 5-0 overall and 3-0 in league play. Murray is 2-3 and 0-3.

Region 1

Davis 26, Bonneville 7: In a battle of formerly ranked teams that lost last week, the Darts rebounded to stay unbeaten in league play. Davis is 4-1 and 2-0; Bonneville is 3-2 and 1-2.

Roy 39, Layton 9: The fourth-ranked Royals won their second straight, keeping the Lancers winless still for the season. Roy is 4-1 and 2-1; Layton is 0-5 and 0-3.

Clearfield 34, Weber 7: The Falcons also remained unbeaten in region competition. Clearfield is 4-1 and 2-0; Weber is 2-3 and 1-2.

Region 2

Alta 28, East 16: The third-ranked Hawks claimed their second consecutive triumph, handing the Leopards their third straight loss. Alta is 4-1 and 2-1; East is 1-4 and 0-3.

Skyline 57, Cottonwood 6: Joe Dupaix rushed for two TDs and passed for a third and Jake Marshall ran for a pair of 2-yard scores to pace the top-ranked Eagles. Cliff Doman caught Dupaix's 40-yard scoring toss and ran 73 yards for another score. Skyline is 5-0 and 2-0; after another lopsided loss (the Colts were blitzed 52-0 by No. 3 Alta last week), Cottonwood is 2-3 and 1-2.

Region 3

Granger 21, Bingham 13: After trailing 13-0, the Lancers needed a go-head PAT kick by Travis Mulford, and 40-yard scoring interception return by Jack Ballard and a final-minute goal-line stand at the 1-yard line by the defense for the triumph. With its fourth straight win, Granger is 4-1 and 3-0; Bingham is 1-4 and 1-2.

Taylorsville 20, Kearns 6: Tefua Bloomfield scored on TD runs of 2 and 12 yards, while Aaron Payne passed 70 yards to Mike Anderson for another score for the Warriors. Taylorsville is 3-2 and 2-1; Kearns is 0-5 and 0-3.

West Jordan 32, Hillcrest 25: Bryan Johnson and Brandon Marchant connected on TD passes for 52 and 49 yards, while Johnson lofted another long-distance scoring bomb of 56 yards to Brandon Cahoon, as the Jaguars won their third straight. West Jordan is 3-2 and 3-0; Hillcrest - which had scored 10 total points in its previous four games - is 0-5 and 0-3.

Region 4

American Fork 10, Mountain View 6: The Cavemen snapped the Bruins' three-game win streak, as Brandon Crofts kicked a 33-yard field goal and Jared Ostler scored on a 41-yard run. Dave Hawkins' 17-yard TD pass to Rob Nelson was the Bruins' sole score. AF is now 3-2 and 1-1; Mountain View has the same record.

Provo 21, Orem 17: The Bulldogs won their second straight, breaking the Tigers' two-game win streak. Provo is 2-3 and 2-0; Orem is 3-2 and 1-1.

Region 6

Bountiful 30, Judge Memorial 0: The Braves logged their third shutout of the season, as Austin Lindsey threw a 33-yard TD pass to Chris Godfrey and then scored on runs of 3 and 17 yards. Chris Jones added a 3-yard TD run for the top-ranked Braves. Bountiful is 5-0 and 3-0; Judge is 0-5 and 0-3.

West 31, Tooele 14: Brooke Madsen carried 15 times for 122 yards and TDs of 25 and 9 yards, while Marce Wilson had 205 yards passing and 2 TD throws for the Panthers. West gained 205 yards total offense, while Tooele was held under the 100-yard mark. Sophomore Russ Pratt threw for one Buffalo score and rushed for the other. West is 2-3 and 2-1; Tooele is 3-2 and 2-1.

Region 7

Lehi 27, Wasatch 13: After scoring 23 fourth-quarter points in last week's 37-32 victory, the comeback Pioneers spotted Wasatch a 13-0 first-quarter lead on Craig Kohler's two TDs. Lehi returns with Chad Smith catching two Cole Cooper passes (18 and 8 yards) for TDs and then carrying the ball for another pair of scores (4 and 27 yards). Lehi is 2-3 and 2-0; Wasatch is 2-3 and 1-1.

Region 8

Dixie 21, Spanish Fork 20: The visiting Dons scored the game's final TD on a 50-yard punt return by Brad Zeeman, but a two-point PAT run by Scott Vest failed, preserving the Flyer win. Dixie's Tyler Wilkinson scored on a 45-yard pass from Brian Hickman (who threw 62 yards for another TD to Micah Deckart) and added an 85-yard kickoff return. Dixie is 5-0 and 2-0; Spanish Fork is 1-4 and 1-1.

Springville 28, Pine View 7: John Penrod scored 2 TDs on runs of 63 and 30 yards to up his five-game rushing total to 940 yards for the top-ranked Red Devils, who held the Panthers to minus 37 yards rushing. Springville is 5-0 and 2-0; Pine View is 3-2 and 1-1.

Non-league games

Viewmont 17, Brighton 12: The Vikings posted a 17-0 lead by the third quarter and kept Brighton to 12 fourth-quarter points. Jason Hynek scored Viewmont's first TD with 16 seconds left in the half, with Kirk Wersland adding another short-yardage run in the third period. Viewmont is 2-3; Brighton is 3-2.
