Four BYU varsity athletes will compete in the Asian Games Sept. 24-Oct. 2 in Beijing, China.

Golfers Ruby Chico and Ramon Brobio will represent the Philippines in the women's and men's golf competitions. Chico will be joined on the women's squad by former BYU star Mary Grace Estuesta of Manila.Swimmer Nu Yue Meng of Singapore is scheduled for the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke and some relay events.

Women's track newcomer Shu-Hwa Wang, a multiple event athlete from Taiwan, will run a leg on the Taiwanese 4x100-meter relay team and might compete in two individual events, as well.

BYU women's track coach Craig Poole, who will attend the Games, says that Wang's relay team is expected to win the bronze medal.
