Fish and game officials say there's no question that bright orange garb helps save a lot of hunters from getting shot in the field - and it doesn't hurt hunter success.

The accident rate among hunters is 1.06 fatal accidents for every 100,000 licenses sold. That's less than half the rate of accidents for boaters or swimmers.National studies indicate there has been no decline in hunter success in the 34 states which require distinctive gear for hunters in the field.
