Lillian Leatham Simpson Brown, age 97, passed away in her sleep, September 17, 1990, of complications incident to age.
She was born June 20, 1893 in Leeds, Utah. She was a daughter of William and Margaret Buchanan Leatham. On September 14, 1914 she married Heber C. Simpson, her beloved eternal companion, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After his death she married Clyde Brown, August 1968. He died in 1973.She was raised in Salt Lake City and spent most of her adult life in Southern California, where she served faithfully in the LDS Church as a teacher for the Young Women and in the Ward Relief Society Presidency. She accompanied her companion, Heber, on a building mission to New Zealand and Hawaii in 1957-59. They both served later as ordinance workers in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. After moving back to Salt Lake in 1963 she served as Relief Society President of the Ensign 18th Ward.
She is survived by a son, Robert L. Simpson (a General Authority Emeritus) and his wife, Jelaire; grandchildren, Steven C. Simpson and his wife, Kaye, West Jordan, Utah; Christine Lemmon and her husband, Wayne, Rochester, Minnesota; Robert M. Simpson and his wife, Anne, Laguna Niguel, California; 13 great-grandchildren; she also leaves a brother, Louis Leatham.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 21, 1990, 12 Noon, in the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
