Wendell C. Day died September 17, 1990, in Holladay, Utah of natural causes.
Born March 30, 1915, Draper, Utah to Elias John and Olive Matilda Miller Day. Married Ina Harris, October 11, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Wendell attended schools in Draper, Sandy, University of Utah and George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He earned a Juris Doctor degree and practiced law in Murray until his health failed in 1977. He served as President of the Murray School Board, Murray City Attorney and City Judge. His tireless efforts and skill as a lawyer assisted the growing city with property acquisition and construction of the present Murray High and McMillan Elementary schools, as well as the Murray City sewer system. He served an LDS Mission in Eastern Canada.Survivors: wife; sons and daughters, Mrs. Donald G. (Sidnee) Spencer; W. Clinton Day, Jr.; David H. Day; Mrs. Cecil M. (Hannah) Ellisor; Mrs. Inagene (Jeanie) Shipley; Mrs. Glen E. (LuReen) Brock; sisters, Mrs. George P. (Marie) Barber and Mrs. Roy A. (Geneva) West; 35 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many cousins.
Funeral service Friday, September 21, 1990, 12 Noon, Holladay 1st Ward Chapel, 4568 Holladay Blvd. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Thursday 6-8 p.m. (no viewing prior to service Friday). Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
