Crews mopped up hot spots through the night from a 200-acre brush fire in Mount Ogden-Strong Canyon area above Weber State College, said city Fire Battalion Chief Jon Williams.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage, which had grown from 50 to 200 acres in three hours Monday and was contained early Tuesday.U.S. Forest Service spokesman Jim Christensen said a $1,000 reward was being prepared for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who may have been responsible for starting the fire.

Christensen said that while authorities were convinced the fire was man-caused, they were not ready to label it arson. "We're still looking into that," he said.
