Thanks to a donation of two antique cars by an Orem resident, students in Utah Valley Community College's auto/diesel department can now see first-hand the advancements made in the automotive industry.

LaVorn Sparks donated a two-door 1927 Ford Model T sedan and a 1912 Model T Speedster to UVCC. The cars will be used in parades and to display on campus. Sparks said he hopes the cars will help students understand the evolution of the automotive industry and the first mass-produced cars.Don Pendergrass, auto/diesel department chairman, said the antique cars should give students an appreciation of the automobile's history.
