A Salt Lake man has been charged with trying to kill a man who was stabbed with a butcher knife last Sunday.

Eliud Paul Torres, 38, 243 W. Second South Apt. 15, is charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault in connection with an attack upon Nathan Edward East.East, 48, a resident manager of the apartments at 726 E. Third South, was stabbed in the back during a dispute about 7 p.m., according to police reports.

Suffering a punctured lung, East was taken to LDS Hospital, where he remained in serious condition Friday.
