An LDS Church missionary has been indicted on two counts of child sexual assault by a Dickson County grand jury.
The indictment Thursday accused Robert Dee Campbell, 20, a native of Idaho, of assaulting the two young daughters of a church family while he was conducting a prayer meeting in their home July 15.The father of the girls claims the incident occurred while a religious film was being shown at the house.
Campbell, indicted during a special session of the grand jury, remains free on $10,000 bond. Mission president David Campbell, who is not related to the accused missionary, said church funds were used to bail the defendant out of jail and hire an attorney to represent him.
"I feel very confident that he's innocent of the allegations against him," President Campbell said earlier. "We'll stand by him and see what action happens in court."
