Raymond J. Noorda, chairman and chief executive officer of Novell Inc., has been named to the board of directors of Salt Lake-based Automated Language Processing Systems.

"Noorda offers considerable worldwide experience in the building of profitable organizations that penetrate high-tech markets," said Richard L. Warner, chairman of Automated Language.Over the past six years, Noorda has orchestrated the company's growth from a small organization of 18 employees to a recognized leader in Local Area Networking, with 1,200 employees and annual revenues currently approaching $220 million.
