Comedian Bob Hope made the Guinness Book of World Records this year as the most honored entertainment celebrity in history.

The book listed a handful of Hope's honors over the years, including the U.S. Medal of Freedom (1969), the Congressional Gold Medal (1963), the Medal of Merit (1966), the Distinguished Public Service Medal (1973) and the Distinguished Service Gold Medal (1971).Hope's honors from governments and the private sector actually number in the thousands, including an appointment as honorary brigadier general of the Marine Corps. The comedian also holds 44 honorary college degrees.
