A federal grand jury has charged Samuel Joseph Compton with the June 7 armed robbery of the Utah State Credit Union in Salt Lake City.

The indictment says Compton, address not listed, also uses the aliases Alexander Shumway and Ferron Jody Noyce. The indictment also claims Compton threatened a woman's life using a pipe wrench and took $2,929 from the credit union. Compton is in custody in Kansas City.In other action, a federal grand jury charged Howard Dillon, address unavailable, with possession of approximately 900 grams of a mixture containing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

A grand jury has also charged Michael Joseph Crawford, address not listed, with passing $100 counterfeit bills July 20 at a Salt Lake City convenience store and a bus depot.
