The City Council has given final approval to two subdivisions and a commercial project.

The council approved a 27-lot proj-ect at 16th East and Fifth South, which is being developed by Ivory and Co. The project, formerly called Fairview Estate, will be marketed as the Bountiful Bench Estates. Also approved was a six-lot development at 37th South and First East, the Hale Oaks Subdivision. The council approved the project even though it does not meet all city specifications. The council was told the project was being allowed in compliance with provisions governing the property when it was annexed into the city last year. The project had received county approval and was in compliance with county ordinances when it was annexed.

While city officials are not fully pleased with the project, they feel it only fair to let the project proceed.

A final site plan for the Discount Tire Co. store to be built at 2527 S. Main was approved. Also approved was a preliminary site plan for a professional office building at 655 E. Medical Drive. A 20,000-square-foot complex is planned.

The council also approved a request to allow the South Davis Credit Union to operate out of a temporary trailer at 390 S. Main while a new building is constructed at the site. The council said a permit to locate the trailer at the site will not be issued until the company takes out a building permit for the new building.
