Richard J. Galbraith of Sandy will serve as president of the board of directors of the Brigham Young University Alumni Association for the 1988-89 academic year.
Galbraith will preside over the group's two annual meetings and host the Homecoming and two graduation banquets at BYU.Joan Fisher of Salt Lake City was named president-elect. Fisher, a member of the organization's executive committee, will assume Galbraith's responsibilities when his tenure is over.
Galbraith, who graduated from BYU in 1954 with a degree in marketing, is chief executive officer of R.L. Sportswear and Sunridge Manufacturing Inc. in Provo.
He has served as chairman of the board for the Salt Palace and the Salt Lake City Civic Center and as a member of the board for Cottonwood Community Hospital.
Fisher, a 1961 BYU graduate in elementary education, is a member of the board of the BYU Cougar Club and was Mrs. America in 1969-70.
