Twelve firefighters responded to an apartment fire Wednesday that caused an undetermined amount of damage at 1882 S. West Temple Apt. 170B.

Firefighters were at the scene about 6 p.m. after a neighbor reported smoke billowing from an upstairs window.Battalion Chief Tom Tallon said no one was in the two-bedroom apartment when it caught fire. Letha Wilson, who lives in the apartment, was at work when the fire broke out, and her son, Robert, 17, was at a neighbor's home nearby.

Tallon was unable to determine how much damage had occurred to the apartment. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
