The new University of Utah Student Services Building has been selected to receive one of the seven 1987 design awards given nationwide from the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute.

A panel of architecture and engineering experts judged reinforced concrete structures for architectural aesthetics, engineering achievement, functional excellence and economy of construction.The awards will be given on May 17 in New York City. The institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the quality design and construction of cast-in-place reinforced concrete.
