Residential and business mail delivery will be suspended Monday to allow as many postal workers as possible to celebrate Utah's Pioneer Day with their families.

Postal Service spokeswoman Beverly Burge said many workers are taking a vacation day, but that local postal offices will be open and "if people really need their mail, they can come in and get it, or give us a call and we'll be happy to bring it out."She said express mail and special delivery service will operate as normal, as will collection from area postal drops. "We're just trying to let our folks celebrate the holiday, because many of them want to participate, yet we still need to offer service."

A story in Friday's Deseret News indicated mail would be delivered as usual on Monday.
