Flying bandits stole not one, but two airplanes in Salt Lake City and Tooele last week, leaving both planes in good condition after making their getaway in the sky.
A single-engine Cessna owned by a Salt Lake couple disappeared from Salt Lake International Airport on March 30. The craft was found Friday at the Tooele Airport where another plane was stolen and flown to Ogden."It looks as if the thieves dropped the plane off and picked up another one," a Salt Lake police report said.
"We have absolutely no clue who did it," said a co-owner of one of the planes, adding the plane was flown for 10 hours before it was landed in Tooele.
"They could have flown it to Mexico and back," she said.
"This is not uncommon near the border, but it is here," said the other co-owner.
The craft was not seriously damaged, although some instrument lights had been removed before it was abandoned in Tooele.
