NEW YORK _ CBS Masterworks will honor Leonard Bernstein's 70th birthday Aug. 25 by re-issuing 10 compact discs of historic recordings made during his 39-year association with the label. The CDs will include a 1965 recording of the "Nielsen Third Symphony" with the Royal Danish Orchestra; the New York Philharmonic's 1966 recording of "Bartok's Music for Strings, percussion and Celeste"; Bernstein's "Mass," composed for the 1971 opening of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; and a new compilation called "The Bernstein Songbook," which features original cast recording excerpts from "West Side Story," "Candide," "Wonderful Town," "On The Town," "Trouble In Tahiti," and "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."
