Photographs of more than 500 outstanding high school seniors are included in this special Sterling Scholar section that is published exclusively in the Deseret News.

They represent the "cream of the crop" in the graduating class of 46 high schools along the Wasatch Front. Twelve categories of study, ranging from English and Science to Industrial Education and Homemaking, are represented.The Deseret News and KSL Inc., sponsors of the program, developed the Sterling Scholar Awards especially to focus attention on the truly remarkable performance of the state's best scholars.
