Mountain States Resources Corporation said it has acquired approximately 7,600 acres of mining claims with known deposits of gallium and germanium.

A company spokesman said the claims were acquired through purchase of American Strategic Minerals Inc., a Utah Corporation, which will now operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mountain States. The spokesman said samples from the acquired properties were shipped to a major corporation in Europe and extensive testing has been conducted. The positive results confirmed values of .05 percent gallium and .05 percent germanium which represents a rare and significant concentration of these minerals.

Gallium and germanium are used to produce electronic devices.
