Forty-two people were arrested Easter Sunday in an anti-nuclear protest at the Nevada Test Site, ending a 47-day prayer vigil at the nation's center for nuclear-weapons testing.

A U.S. Department of Energy spokesman said 62 people participated in Easter religious services before 42 deliberately trespassed onto government property to force their arrest. The trespassers were cited, but will not be prosecuted under terms of a policy adopted by the Nye County district attorney's office.

More than 60 people were arrested on Good Friday when 170 anti-nuclear activists gathered near the Nevada Test Site gates.

Since the protests began Feb. 17, more than 2,000 people have been arrested.
